Job Description :

We are currently recruiting for a senior Transportation Specialist with experience in global transportation to support our Cargo Execution Team! This is a dynamic team who plays an integral part in the overall success of our Global Service Center.


 


Analyze all transactional Cargo functions performed by the Global Service Center and monitor their performance against set KPI measurements.



  • Discharge Planning

  • Load list Planning to terminals and stowage coordinators

  • Vessel Release

  • Prepare and update SOPs for Global Service Center

  •   Late gate request handling

  •  Load list updates


 Exception Handling: Execute all exception handling requests/issues escalated by Global Service Center and other North American entities inclusive of the following tasks:



  • Discharge Planning

  • Load list Planning to terminals and stowage coordinators

  •  Vessel Release

  • GSI

  • Proactively identify problems and provide resolution to be integrated into SOP’s


 


Manage all operational tasks



  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of each of the current terminal operation guidelines within assigned region, labor contracts, limitations and constraints

  • Analyze and send daily performance measurements of outbound vessels

  • Prepare weekly deadlines and schedules per vessel/port for all GSC transactional tasks

  •  Maintain close dialogue with terminal operators for weekly vessel calls

  • Execute and plan transshipment cargo for all North American ports

  • Maintain proficiency level in vessel release process

  • Monitor systems and data accuracy for North American ports related to all vessel activity

  • Prepare and Execute all Loading and Manifesting requirements for vessel operations

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Manage all special operational tasks



  • Proactively identify EDI issues and implement process improvements with proper business units

  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery

  • Ensure customer freight loads intend vessel by executing load lists in coordination with external terminal stakeholders as well as internal stowage coordinators.

  • Proactively manage transshipment cargo moving through North America to prevent delays in transit to freight moving on to other destination countries.

  • Manage day to day terminal relationships with key stakeholders including monitoring daily performance metrics, maximizing incentives within contracts, issue resolution on terminal or with gate transactions, (etc.) to ensure cargo fluidity is maintained at acceptable levels

  • Work with Global Service Center teams to execute daily tasks (planning vessel discharge, load, release, reconciling schedules) to ensure services delivered meet customer expectations and continuously look for opportunities to improve processes or product offered to the customer.

Required Qualifications :

 


Professional Skills


Maintain a proficiency level in multiple 3rd party terminal systems


 Update and maintain Connection Time Window table in MEPC


Communicate internally with respective manager on present activities, any process improvement, process automation identification, problems and solutions determined.


 B.S. / B.A. degree or a minimum of three years work experience in a transportation field


 Experience in one of the following preferred



  • Terminal operations

  •  Liner operations

  • Intermodal

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Environment Software
