Customer Service/Call Center positions/Benefits Verification



We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals with advanced customer service skills to provide support to medical providers and patients.  The Medical Reimbursement Specialist is responsible for providing basic reimbursement support, case management, and payer research.






The Medical Reimbursement Specialist communicates by phone with insurance companies as a representative of a physician’s office in order to verify patient medical insurance coverage.  The Medical Reimbursement Specialist will ask necessary questions regarding patient’s insurance benefits and complete data entry and required reporting documentation.



The Medical Reimbursement Specialist is supervised and supported by the Assistant Manager or other supervisory/management level positions. 





POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following activities:


·         Verifying insurance benefits and communicating product coverage details to providers


·         Processing requests for product shipments and ongoing patient assistance as needed


·         Researching payer coverage policies


·         Facilitating the prior authorization process when required


·         Facilitating the appeals process when a claim or coverage has been denied


·         Reviewing and processing request for patient assistance programs


·         Receiving and triaging inbound program calls appropriately





Job Requirements


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS


Preferred candidates should have the following experience and knowledge requirements:


·          healthcare experience preferred


·         2-4 years customer service experience (phone preferred)


·         Medical Insurance Experience


·         Familiarity of eligibility requirements and general benefits provided by most major payers


·         Working knowledge of computers in order to operate effectively with company systems and programs
