Job Description



The Junior Buyer supports the purchasing team while learning and understanding the business from the ground up! This opportunity is geared for a recent college graduate looking to learn the corporate world and the supply chain process through hands on training with seasoned professionals.


 


Duties include:


Purchasing Materials and Supplies from Established Vendors and New Vendors



  • Review Buying Requirements Report for replenishment/Generate POs

  • Coordinate order requirements with Requestors and Suppliers

  • Placing rush orders

  • Sourcing best product value without jeopardizing quality

  • Identifying supplier consolidation opportunities

  • Identifying, documenting, and implementing process improvements


Managing Inventory



  • Monthly review of frozen ordering controls and exceptions

  • Facilitate review of non-performing inventory

  • Identifying, documenting, and implementing process improvements


Supplier Relations and Performance



  • Evaluating and selecting suppliers; coordinate with Product Managers

  • Analyzing stock suppliers and identifying opportunities

  • Planning development and implementation to achieve objectives for improved pricing, terms, and conditions, and value added.

  • Identifying, documenting, and implementing process improvements


Performing Supplier Discrepancy Resolution and Monitoring



  • Maintaining supplier non-conformance records and resolving shipment discrepancies

  • Reporting supplier performance to internal customers

  • Resolving audit report discrepancies and clearing invoices for payment

  • Identifying, documenting, and implementing process improvements


Expedite / Follow-Up with Suppliers on Open Orders



  • Checking order status on open purchase orders as required and providing

  • feedback to internal customers as appropriate

  • Expedite as requested

  • Follow-up of late orders

  • Identifying, documenting, and implementing process improvements

  • Continuous product training, business operating systems, computer skills and purchasing training
