We are currently recruiting for an incredible entry level business opportunity in the Logistics and Supply Chain Field with a global organization in the Charlotte area! This position is responsible for planning and container movement across the country and utilizing most efficient and effective routing of transport vehicles to ensure client satisfaction. The Dispatch Specialist also ensures time-sensitive cargo moves to its final destination in compliance with contract terms.

  • Master communicator working with all parties in the logistics process including communicating updates to customers, contacting drivers, customs officials, terminal personnel and steamship personal to resolve any issues and ensure the freight is delivered in a timely manner!

  • Resolve all delivery issues including communicating pick-ups and deliveries with Contract Drivers, partnering with carriers, rail operators, and port operators to ensure successfully deliveries

  • Records and audits all documents for tracking

  • Track, trace and report container activity

  • Process and complete all documentation assigned in a timely manner

  • Track shipping and billing data appropriately and promptly

  • Assists Customer Service team and other office personnel in handling day to day duties required by management

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Customer facing service experience

  • 1-2 years of functional experience in supply chain or transportation is a plus 

  • MS Excel must be able to Input, export, sort, & filter data, create and modify spreadsheets, use basic formatting

  • MS Word must be able to create and modify docs

  • MS Outlook must be able to manage emails and calendars
