Job Description :
World-Class manufacturer of industrial grade product for has an immediate need for a Quality Engineer  to focus suppliers.  Opportunity to work cross-functional with multiple different areas of the plant. Leading edge manufacturing technologies and processes this position supports, develops, evaluate and improve plant manufacturing quality, methods and systems.

 

POSITION SUMMARY



  • Investigates, analyzes and resolves supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement projects

  • Maintains and updates critical supplier audit system and schedule

  • Conducts supplier audits to help drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement

  • Use continuous improvement tools such as PPM reports, KPIs, non-conformance logs, FMEA, and process mapping to identify supplier quality problems 

  • Participate in daily production meetings and investigate root causes of supplier-related production problems 

  • Be involved in early Concept to Product phases and Design Reviews 

  • Identify under-performing suppliers and develop strategies designed to improve their performance to meet standards


Required Qualifications :

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • Four-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (prefer major in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)

  • Three to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred


  • Training in Lean and Six Sigma concepts (certification is a plus.)




KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Experience with FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, APQP, and Process Mapping

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and production equipment

  • Ability to read technical drawings, knowledge of machined parts and components, production operation and inspection techniques

  • Must be familiar with standard Mechanical Inspection techniques and tools

  • Understanding of ISO9001 Quality Management Systems

  • Extensive working knowledge of GD&T
