Job Description :



Manage all aspects of Mechanical Equipment projects (including Custom Air Handling units, Central Utility plants, Mechanical equipment Rooms and Modular Data Centers) from initial phases through installation, start-up and final completion.  Manage development Design, specifications and requests for bid proposals.  Must exercise considerable independent judgment and initiative in performing assigned duties.  Must exercise tact and courtesy in contacts with vendors, contractors and others.  Stay abreast of all relevant construction and building codes, standards and regulations.  Provide expert guidance on construction and renovation projects and determine best options for costs.  Manage Interdisciplinary team of Engineers and Designers.  Single point of contact for client.  Manages cost and schedule.


Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Facilitate kick-off meetings

  • Shop drawing coordination

  • Transition project from estimating in to project management through to Fabrication and installation

  • Using value engineering, make all projects cost effective

  • Continually monitor project costs

  • Purchase equipment and materials and ensure accurate, timely delivery of all needed materials

  • Ensure warranty compliance with vendors

  • Establish a good working relationship with Superintendents

  • Manage all submittals

  • Attend any and all job related meetings as required

  • Oversee Operating & Maintenance manual development

  • Ensure and subcontractor compliance with contract and project specifications

  • Approve all invoices for payment

  • Ensure as-builts are completed in a timely and accurate manner

  • Schedule fabrication shipments

  • Direct and coordinate work of all subcontractors.

  • Generate status reports

  • Accurately price change orders

  • Ensure all work in completed in accordance with Safety Program

  • Deliver the project to the pre determined and agreed budget, time and quality parameters

  • Schedule workforce needs with Superintendents, Operations Manager and Human resources

  • Maintain equipment lists

  • Maintain an accurate estimate sheet Develop and manage project schedules.

  • Coordinate engineering and drafting

  • Submit accurate and timely Requests for Payment

Required Qualifications :



This Position requires a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field (Or 10+ year’s related experience).  Significant experience in HVAC, Piping and or Plumbing may be accepted in lieu of a degree



  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in Industrial HVAC, energy service contracting (ESCO), central refrigeration plant, Design Build Contracting or energy efficiency field

  • A minimum of 5+ years project Management experience

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical engineering or Construction Management from an accredited four-year engineering program is not required but is recommended.

  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects

  • Must be computer proficient in Word perfect, Excel, Scheduling & project Management software (Auto-Cad a plus)

  • Must have ability to work independently without direct supervision

  • Have knowledge of OSHA and other construction related rules and regulations
