Store Operations Project Manager Position
This position has been heightened to cover two areas of responsibility, Project Manager and Project Analyst. Structural changes within our group have increased the responsibilities for this position thus requiring additional project management duties to fall under this role.
The role of a Store Operations Project Manager is to drive and execute strategies that result in an increase to gross margin dollars and improve store productivity working in partnership with cross-functional project teams on key initiatives, specifically Merchandising and Marketing.
In addition, the Project Manager role is responsible for tracking project financial results, building and delivering Operational reports for Senior Leadership and Field Operations. The breadth of reporting can range from Compliance, Tax & Licensing, Merchandising, Financials, and Operational performance. This individual will work cross functionally to oversee project financials in order to ensure accountability and reporting accuracy to improve sales and margin.
Current Responsibilities can include but are not limited to:
Merchandising Initiatives – Key projects include but are not limited to: Adult Beverage Sales initiatives, Tobacco Sustainability Program and Growth Strategies, rollout and performance, and compliance reporting while supporting Private Brand in-store tests and strategies.
Marketing Initiatives - Monthly and Holiday Planner activities which include participation in the building and development of Monthly and Holiday planners from the eyes of store operations; drive change to support store simplification; provide seasonal directives in partnership with Marketing as they relate to store execution and set up for promotional displays; approve signage and pricing strategies used in stores while helping complete early ad set testing for monthly and holiday circulars, tracking/reporting circular accuracy for these events.
Store Closing Projects – Manage the store closing process for various underperforming stores including but not limited to the coordination of all tasks related to the store closing calendar for each stores, Field Management communication and support
Holiday Planning - Assist in developing annual holiday calendar; build “Holiday Display” Guides and holiday communication plans; compile field feedback for holiday lessons learned; and produce
Ad Hoc reporting for merchandising shifts/seasonal performance to Store Ops Leadership
Field and Leadership Reporting - Analyze key data to identify trends and risks; develop mitigating solutions and recommendations; provide Weekly Category Sales Report for Zone Vice Presidents; send out Monthly Coupon Compliance reporting and other monthly Operations reports to the field;
Merchant Sales Incentives/Challenges - Develop payout structure; review weekly results and communications; and process final payout for winners.
Cross-Functional Initiatives - Drive and Support First of the Month and the Feed the Beast Program Initiatives which includes: monthly checklists, incremental labor communication, ongoing improvements and training materials.
Store Operations Support - Liaison for Store Operations Support team, both corporate and field based;create standard practice documentation; create new SOP’s and/or QRG’s as needed
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Experience: Minimum of three years project management experience; experience in medium to large size, multi-location companies; advanced experience with Excel, Power point and MS Project; familiarity with Retail is a plus. Solid communication skills, both written and verbal are a required. Must be able to work under pressure to meet challenging timeline. Some travel required as needed.
